Who am I?

My name is Shawn and I am a follower of Christ, husband to a wonderful wife and father to 3 great kids and I too am a landscape videographer.

I shoot landscape video for national agencies and for nation-wide television distribution, you actually probably have seen my work.  Much of the content I create is captured in Northwest Ohio but I do travel whenever the opportunity presents itself.  I enjoy most the creative side of capturing content, getting unique perspectives and am always learning new creative shooting techniques .

What do I enjoy most? I really enjoy astrophotography, capturing the stars, the milky way and creating star trails is great fun and the opportunities for creativity are endless.  Other techniques I enjoy are creating time-lapses and layering video to make unexpected things happen.  Stabilized video using a Ronin-M is also something I enjoy.  Aerial photography with a quadcopter has always fascinated me and the DJI Phantom continues to be one of my favorite cameras.

MY PASSION

Capturing the beauty of the Lords creation and sharing on platforms for all to see.

ALWAYS LEARNING

There are so many creative minds out there, I always am looking for cutting edge technique and new skills to learn.  Instagram is my favorite source to find motivation.  Find me here: ExploringNWO on Instagram

Gear

I shot only Canon for about 10 years, in the Summer of 2015 I sold it all (except for one lens) and moved to Sony. I couldn’t be happier with the Sony kit, click the image to see what I’m using and how I’m using it.

Amazon Store

Here you will find a collection of items I use when shooting video. I have found Amazon to be an excellent place to purchase gear and if you purchase through the link below, I get a small commission from Amazon for your purchases. Thank you for your support!

ExploringNWO Blog

I try to document my various trips and shoots when I am out and about here and from time to time share things about technique and gear. I don’t have a consistent update schedule but do try to keep it up to date as often as I am able.
